May 2015 – Partner Update
Dear Partners,
Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.
I write to you this month with a heart filled with praise to the Lord for His protection during these last weeks of flooding and destruction here in Texas. To give you an idea of what we have been through – all of our creeks that have been dry for years are full and a local lake (a big one with a large community around it) has been dust and dried mud for the last four years in three days rose 27 feet and is suddenly a lake again!
Our damage is minimal compared with the wreckage and loss of life that has been experienced literally all around us. We have damaged roofs on three of the buildings, trees that had to be cut before the storm turned them into ballistic missiles, air conditioner unit and debris and silt in the well and flooding in the laundry room in our house. Considering the floods, incessant rain, nearly 100 mile and hour winds and living under tornado warnings for the last three to four weeks I say again that the damage is next to nothing. The sun has returned in the last few hours and we are still assessing the damage but it looks like we have found everything that will have to be repaired. Any financial help that the Spirit lays upon you will be readily used.
My message this month addresses the fear that we confront in days of terror such as some of our neighbors have in the last days. Although it speaks to the days when real fear lays hold on us it is a message that every person needs to hear to learn to live in perfect peace in every day.
We welcome our new partners who have joined us after becoming one with this message of God’s limitless love and ministry through the weekly web broadcasts. We thank God for the multitudes who connect with us around the world in every hour of the day. John who technically makes the web broadcast possible tells us that in every minute of the day somewhere in the world persons are watching and listening. You and I rejoice together because without you my voice would be heard only in Bandera Texas!
We continue to rejoice in the Lord and live from the strength of God here at the ministry. If you could not get through on the phone it was because we were without power or internet for periods during these weeks. We remain shorthanded so when you call if you do not get an answer please leave a message and we will get back to you.
Let me tell you one more time that we have secured the Drury Inn in San Antonio for the first weekend of December for our winter retreat. This announcement may seem a little premature! We are not having a summer retreat and so this one will have more who want to be there and some of you may want to secure your place early; you can book through our office now. The title is “More than Conquerors” which practically shows how we live a life beyond merely overcoming! This is a retreat on spiritual warfare as I have never taught it before and I am certain you have never heard it before – whether you book now or later you must be with us for these days. My new book, “This Son of Mine” is now published and is available through our office and at malcolmsmith.org. Call or click today and make sure you have your copy! Many are planning to use the book as the foundation for personal or home Bible studies with their friends. The book is the result of my having prayed and meditated and taught on the parable of the prodigal son for the last 60 years.
Thank you for your continued giving and for those who undoubtedly led by the Spirit have given special gifts. Every dollar that you send is the love of God clothed in finances and wrapped in prayer – the gift of your life joined to the Holy Spirit and sent forth to world. You and I, along with every other partner do more together than either of us could do alone in our wildest dreams. In your monthly giving you are part of my voice carrying God’s love in Christ in the power of the Spirit to the world. And while we send our gifts we live the message in all the ups and downs of life.
