Inside Out 2 is a deep dive into the hidden inner world of the human heart through the lens of the Incarnation, the Early Church Fathers, and Incarnational Counseling.

 

This retreat explores how childhood wounds, trauma, neglect, shame, fear, and distorted beliefs shape the way we see ourselves, others, and even God. Together we will uncover how the soul develops “survival strategies” that once protected us but now often keep us from intimacy, freedom, and communion.

 

But this retreat is not merely about diagnosis. It is about encountering Christ as the true Physician of the soul. The Gospel is not God standing at a distance demanding healing from us. The Gospel is that in Jesus Christ, God entered directly into human suffering, weakness, fear, shame, and brokenness in order to heal humanity from the inside out.

 

Throughout the weekend we will explore:

• The hidden stories shaping our lives
• How shame and fear distort perception
• Why we repeat unhealthy relational patterns
• The difference between wounds of abuse and neglect
• How the passions form as misdirected attempts to survive pain
• The healing power of truthful presence
• How Christ meets us within our story rather than bypassing it
• Healing through communion, participation, and the love of the Trinity

 

 

Inside Out 2 is not about behavior modification or religious performance. It is about rediscovering the truth! That beneath the fear, shame, fragmentation, and survival patterns, there remains the beloved person Christ has never abandoned.

 

The goal is not merely relief from pain. The goal is restoration into and through communion with God, with others, and within your own heart.

Good day! As we transition from spring to summer, we want to share updates and plans for the remainder of the year. Cheryl and I are excited to bring you some wonderful news and upcoming events that we believe will be significant for all of us.

HEALTH UPDATE

First and foremost, we have fantastic news regarding Malcolm’s health. His most recent PET scan, conducted a couple of weeks ago, showed even more shrinkage of the cancer. The oncologist has confirmed that Malcolm is now more than 95 percent cancer-free. Hallelujah! Malcolm has been incredibly busy with his writing, and we’ve had our plates full, but this good news energizes us.

DECEMBER RETREAT

We are thrilled to announce our Winter Retreat, scheduled for December 6th, 7th, and 8th at the DoubleTree in San Antonio. This year’s theme is “Meal of Mystery, Meal of Wonder” which ties into the new book Malcolm is writing about the Holy Communion. Many people have expressed interest in understanding the significance and practices surrounding the Holy Communion, and this retreat will delve deeply into this sacred ritual.

The retreat will feature comprehensive teaching sessions on the Eucharist, starting from Friday through to Sunday morning. Each evening and on Sunday morning, we will celebrate the Eucharist together, aiming for a deeper experiential understanding of its significance. This will be more than just a learning experience; it will be a time to live and feel the teachings as they are presented.

NEW BOOK

The upcoming book, Meal of Mystery, Meal of Wonder explores the profound mystery and significance of the Eucharist, uncovering layers of meaning that have long been misunderstood or overlooked. It promises to be an enlightening read, bringing the practices and teachings of the early church to life. The book is expected to be published in the fall, and those attending the retreat will be the first to have the opportunity to purchase it.

My message to you this month is from the first letter of John, in chapter 4:7-21. This passage reminds us that love originates from God, and our ability to love comes from His initial love for us. This divine love is not something we earn or initiate but is His nature which we receive and respond to. It’s a love that is not based on our actions but purely on His grace and initiative. This understanding frees us from the struggle of trying to earn God’s love and allows us to rest in the assurance that we are already loved unconditionally. As we continue through the summer, let us keep this realization in our hearts and carry it with us in our daily lives.

Join us in this wonderful New Year celebrating Christ in us, our life, and our hope!

We look back on 2022 with thanks to the Lord for all the opportunities of bringing the message of the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into this world’s darkness.

We ended the year with our annual retreat, which included the celebration of my being in ministry for 70 years. Cheryl was in charge of the celebration and surprised me (and everyone) by bringing in three special guests. I was stunned to see them: Paul Young, author of “The Shack,” flew in from meetings in Croatia; Francois DuToit, translator and author of the Mirror Bible, flew in from South Africa; and Baxter Kruger, the well-known theologian and author, interrupted his busy schedule to be with us.

For me, it was emotional overload – Looking back over those 70 years and knowing “I being in the way, the Lord led me!” when teaching the love of God, his grace, the finished work of Christ, and the pouring of the Spirit upon all flesh was not always a popular message!

Many times, I asked the Lord for someone who was saying the same thing as he was showing me! In those days, I could never imagine these days when the ears and eyes of many across the world are being opened.

Never forget that each one of you has and is playing a massive part in this. In those days, some of you were the only friends I had as you faithfully supported me. Today, as the message is going where it never has before, all of you have the honor of standing with me and Cheryl and making it all possible.

We have several meetings in the planning stages throughout the year that we will be sharing with you in the coming weeks.

January 20-21, 2023 I will be participating in an interesting conference with Don Keathley and Steve McVey, two men that I have known and fellowshipped with over the years. It is an online (Zoom-only) conference, no one coming physically, and will be Friday evening beginning at 6pm, and contuing Saturday through the afternoon. We are calling it The Journey – Into the Spirit. Coming from totally different backgrounds, the three of us will be teaching (not testimonies) how the Spirit takes us from where we are, to the fulness of life in Him. We are planning more such conferences emphasizing different aspects of the journey. Between the three of us we have 175 years of ministry experience, and we share from that deep river of understanding. For those of you in Oklahoma, we will be in Atoka for the Sunday morning service on March 26^th. More details to come on that later.

We are ready to begin the cycle of Bible school modules again for those who may be interested. The new Module One will be May 26-27, 2023. We will also be having Module 6 for the current group of students, April 28-29, 2023, and that class is open to all who have completed Modules 1-5 in-person or through the online modules. We have had many new students enrolling into the online modules.

We have just returned from Grand Rapids, Michigan where we were abundantly blessed in ministering this message of grace and the unconditional love of God to the people there. It was a small group, but we were able to watch the Spirit put the message deep into their hearts.

Dear Partners,

We greet you in the midst of this holiday season with the message of thanksgiving – the divine power of giving of thanks in everything! I trust that I have been able to communicate this power revealed in the words in the story of Jesus multiplying the five loaves and two fishes to feed a multitude of probably in excess of 15,000 persons. The heart of the story – the place and moment in which the miracle took place – is in Jesus taking the bread and fish and blessing it and giving thanks. Can you imagine how utterly foolish that looked? A handful of food that would not feed two people is being blessed and the Father is being thanked that this shall be supper for everyone! But that is the action of faith that the Scripture operates in. We take what we have even though it is absolutely not enough for the need and give thanks to Him who has given Himself to be the answer to our need and his blessing multiplies and fills what we have with divine life. May the message insert the thanksgiving of faith into these days!

As I announced last month we will be changing our name on January 1st 2013. As of that date we will no longer be known as Zoe Community of the Holy Spirit but as Unconditional Love Fellowship. Unconditional Love is not merely an event of history but is now poured into our hearts through the Spirit that we might live our lives in the knowing that we are His beloved and reaching out through our actions loving one another as we have been and experience His love.

We are amazed at the response to the Tuesday night webinars at 7 p.m. central time. We are able to record when someone is watching and we can report that every hour of the day or night multiple persons are watching somewhere in the world. Thousands more are receiving the podcast and so the message pours out to multiple thousands each month. Thank you for making this possible with your gifts.

These last weeks have been financially challenging but we give thanks to the Lord for those of you who heard the voice of the Spirit and sent your special gifts. Both Nancy and I thank you again for standing as one with us in this ministry of God’s love in Jesus transforming the lives of millions around the world.
