Spring 2024 – Partner Update

Posted by on April 25, 2024 in Partners | 0 comments

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

We come to you with an update and it’s for the months of March and April, I would say it’s for Spring in this year of 2024. Cheryl and I are here to let you know what’s going on now and in the coming months. One thing I would like to begin with is to thank all of you for the way you have continued to support during this last year plus. It has been the most challenging year of our lives. And although we’ve made the report of the good news at each time we’re being tested but in between those times there, there were challenges and the feeling of great oppression, and it was a battle for sure that we together went through.

And one thing that amazes me is that you have not forsaken us and that might sound pretty obvious to some of you, but so many ministries, if they stop doing what they said they were going to do because of extended periods of problems such as we’ve had, their people would just say, well, that’s it I’m not supporting anymore. But you have stuck with us, and I thank you everyone that has faithfully given your offering regardless of the fact I seem to have disappeared on many Sunday Services… although I’ve been very visible, I haven’t been speaking up until recently.

So when we move on into the rest of this year I plan to return and maybe gradually, but return to ministering every Sunday in Bandera, which goes on YouTube and the podcast, and so we shall, I believe, be seeing more of each other in these incoming weeks, but until then, we’re just giving thanks to you and to Andrew and Marshall and Clint, who have stepped up and taken so many of the Sunday services, these three guys have found a place in the hearts of all of you.

And as to the rest of this year, really what I’ve just said is what we are absolutely planning. Just to settle in to Bandera, we’re not planning any major excursions and journeys and meetings away from home and living in hotels and the rest of it. That wears me out now as it didn’t used to. Gone are the days when I Pack a case that fits on my back and spend days tramping around the world and through the jungles and over the mountains ministering to tribes who don’t speak English. They were glorious days, but I think they are behind me. I’ve got to remember my age.

But, in non-traveling, I have been writing more. You might have noticed that we took some of my older books and radically brought them up to date, added chapters and insights that have become part of me, us now.

And one more thing that has emerged is that we are now TV, on Roku on the GAN Network. G-A-N, Grace Awakening Network which you can sign up for at gantv.com or searching for ‘Grace awakening Network’ on any Roku device.

So I want to reassure you that although we’re not traveling as we used to, all of the offerings that you have so faithfully sent and are sending they are enabling us to do this because it is your offerings that enable me to sit here and do what I’m doing, writing new books and preparing for upcoming Bible school modules and Sunday services. We are upheld by your faithful support.

I want to share something foundational with you, something that’s echoed in 1 John 4:10 where it states, “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.” This isn’t a concept isolated to John’s situation, but is a cornerstone of the entire New Testament, deeply rooted in everything Jesus taught and demonstrated.

We are familiar with how religion perceives the initiation of divine relationship—it always starts with the believer. They suggest you need to do something, something significant enough to capture God’s attention. But here, the scripture flips that script entirely. It begins not with our love, but with His; not with our actions, but with His initiation.

This message from 1 John is not just foundational: it’s utterly revolutionary. It challenges the transactional nature we often find in religion, where you must do something to earn God’s favor. Instead, it declares that everything about our salvation, our being loved by God, begins with Him. Our entire relationship with God is a response to this truth.

As you ponder this, let it reshape how you view your faith. Remember, it’s not about initiating something to make God respond. It’s about responding to what He has already done, embracing the love He has freely given. This isn’t just foundational; and when we return to this in each moment it is transformational.

Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for all the blessings you have sent us financially and in prayer. And thank you for making this last year possible. the triumphant year it’s ended up being. And so, we’ll keep you posted, and we’ll be back to share these things with you, our partners in Christ Jesus. We bless you. Amen.

December 2023 – Partner Update

Posted by on December 24, 2023 in Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

As the year draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt greetings for a Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year. Cheryl and I cherish this opportunity to reflect on the year’s journey and share the latest updates with you. First, we are thrilled to share that Malcolm’s health has significantly improved. As of our last consultation, he is 95% free of cancer, with clear lungs. This recovery is a testament to your prayers and letters of support, and our shared faith in the finished work of healing for which we are deeply grateful. This year’s retreat was evidence of my steady recovery, as I had much more energy for the retreat in December just a few weeks prior at our Bible school graduation. Cheryl and I are awaiting the next PET scan scheduled for February 8th and looking forward to continuing good reports.

Our December retreat was a source of profound inspiration and transformation for many there. The message of the power of imagination, our special ability from God to see the inner voice revealed through the Spirit, has resonated deeply with many. We discussed how imagination shapes our reality and is the workshop where everything begins. It has been a topic of continued discussion in the weeks since the retreat. Your letters and stories of personal connection to the message have been incredibly moving. The CDs and downloads of the retreat message ‘More Than You Can Imagine’ are available now. You can call our office or order online.

Upcoming Bible School Modules:

We have just announced Module 2 of our Bible school is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, 2024, in Bandera, Texas. If you have done any of the modules before, you should be eligible to sign up for this one. We will post the details online in the coming days at unconditionallovefellowship.com. We look forward to seeing many of you there. Module 7 should be showing up on the online school any day now.

We are excited to announce several books that have been published (and republished) this year. Malcolm’s book, “This Son of Mine” was re-released in an expanded edition in 2023 and has found a special place in the hearts of healthcare professionals in San Antonio. Throughout the year, during Malcolm’s hospital visits, we have had the privilege of personally handing out copies to the compassionate and dedicated hospital staff we encountered along the way.

Another popular book that has been out of print for some time, Toxic Love: the Illusion of Self Worth has been republished with additional chapters. Furthermore, in Cheryl’s new book TO LOVE AGAIN: Reflections of a Redeemed Heart she shares her personal story and journey to encourage you and let you know that Jesus, the Lover of your soul, wants to teach you to love again, to forgive, and to find joy and peace even in the darkest memories.

Malcolm’s latest release, “The Spirit Brings Life” traces Malcolm’s journey from his early years to the present, as he shares his approach to scriptural meditation and spiritual growth. You can find all of these books now (paperback and Kindle) on Amazon.com. We are also adding them to our online store at malcolmsmith.org or you can order by calling the office at 830-460-4000.

As we step into the New Year, we are filled with hope and anticipation for what God has in store. Our commitment to spreading the message of God’s unconditional love remains unwavering. We plan to continue our retreats, modules, and publications, aiming to reach more hearts and minds in the year ahead.

Thank You! Your letters and messages of support have been a source of great encouragement during this challenging year. While we cannot respond to each letter individually, please know that each one is read and cherished. Your partnership in this ministry is invaluable, and we are continually uplifted by your faith and generosity.

In closing, we pray that the love and peace of Christ fill your hearts this festive season. May the coming year bring you joy, health, and abundant blessings and may God richly bless you.

Merry Christmas,
Malcolm and Cheryl Smith

June (April, May) 2023 – Partner Update

Posted by on June 15, 2023 in Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

As we reflect on the past months of May and June, we realize how hectic this spring has been with Bible schools, travel, and various engagements. Despite the busyness, we wanted to take a moment to share some important updates with you.

Firstly, we want to let you know that we have made the decision to cancel most of our travel engagements for the remainder of this year and prioritize rest. However, the retreat in Connecticut, scheduled for October, as well as Module 7 will still take place as planned. We also still have the Journey 2 online conference and the December retreat in San Antonio on the schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these changes and appreciate your understanding.

We have also been working on an exciting project with a publisher in California. Both Cheryl and I will have our books published soon. Cheryl’s book will touch on her life journey and her impactful work as a chaplain and working with inmates on death row. My book will delve into the topic of Reward and Punishment, exploring the implications of legalism and our understanding of God’s grace. We anticipate the release of these books around July, and we look forward to sharing them with you.

I am thrilled to announce the second installment of our Zoom sessions, “The Journey 2 – Exploring the Power of Imagination.” Joining me will be Don Keathley and Steve McVey as we each approach this topic from different angles and perspectives. We believe that understanding and utilizing our imagination under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is crucial to experiencing the fullness of God’s love and grace. More details about the session can be found on our website www.unconditionallovefellowship.com.

For those who have been attending the Bible school modules 1-6 these past years, we invite you to celebrate your journey with us at the graduation ceremony. This special event will take place in San Antonio in October at the conclusion of Module 7. We are excited to honor your dedication and the growth you have experienced throughout the entire school. Please stay tuned for further information regarding reservations and arrangements. We are finalizing the plans and should have online registration open soon.

As we adjust our focus to local engagements and prioritize rest, we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with you through virtual platforms. You can expect to hear more from me as I share messages and teachings on Zoom every Sunday. While we will miss seeing some of you in person, I do believe that this virtual connection will allow us to stay in touch and continue growing together in our understanding of God’s love and grace.

Cheryl and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and partnership in spreading the message of God’s unconditional love. Your prayers and generosity are instrumental in the success of this ministry, and we are truly blessed to have you by our side. Thank you!

For any additional information or updates on upcoming events, please visit our website at www.unconditionallovefellowship.com.

May the love of Jesus fill your hearts and bless you abundantly.

In the love of Jesus,

Malcolm and Cheryl

March 2023 – Partner Update

Posted by on April 4, 2023 in News & Events, Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

In recent months, we have been traveling and meeting many individuals who have been profoundly impacted by the message of God’s agape love. This love, the greatest power in the universe, is the reason and original power of creation. We are truly humbled and inspired by the testimonies we have encountered.

This past weekend, we celebrated Cheryl’s 40th anniversary of ministry in prisons. As we reflect on the many lives touched by her work, we are reminded of the incredible power of God’s love to transform lives.

We have several events and meetings scheduled in the coming months so please mark your calendars for the following dates:

BIBLE SCHOOL
Module 6: April 28-29 (Registration is open to those who have completed Modules 1-5)

Module 1: May 26-27
Every few years, we begin a new cycle of the Bible school modules. Module 1 is a complete introduction and overview of the Bible school and the modules to come. Our last Module 1 in 2019 was our biggest one yet and, I’ve heard, a life-changing event for many in attendance. Even those who do not continue on to complete all 100+ hours of the Modules have found great insight and revelation from the information in just Module 1 of the Bible school. I encourage you to take part in these enriching classes here in Bandera or online through Zoom (Register online or read more about the Bible school at: https://unconditionallovefellowship.com/about/msbi/)

OTHER EVENTS

June 9-11: Cedar Bluff, VA – (Contact: Jim Moore 276-220-1014 Rhythms of Grace)

September 8-10: Sioux Falls, South Dakota

September 15-17: Grand Rapids, Michigan

October 8-10: Connecticut Retreat as a guest speaker (details to come)

December 1-3: Annual Unconditional Love Retreat: “More Than You Can Imagine!”

My message to you this month comes from Matthew’s gospel, when Jesus says after the resurrection, “I will go to Galilee, and you will meet Me there.” He doesn’t meet them in the holy temples of Jerusalem as expected. But instead tells them to meet Him in the busy streets, beside the fish markets and among the peasants of Galilee. His resurrection presence is found in the common places where we live out our daily lives. He doesn’t make us go seek Him in the holy places, but rather seeks us out, making where we are into His holy place. We often look to Jerusalem to find Jesus. But the true essence of resurrection life is found in the Galilee. The Holy Spirit is Jesus coming to meet us right in the middle of our situation every day.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to helping us share the message of God’s unconditional love with the world. Your support is vital to the continued success of this ministry, and we pray that the Lord will continue to bless you as you have blessed others through your partnership with us

In the love of Jesus,
Malcolm and Cheryl

February 2023 – Partner Update

Posted by on February 15, 2023 in Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

This February the month of Valentine! The media and the stores are full of words and symbols of love. There are many believers who think of God as the ultimate Valentine and in so doing miss the entire meaning of God’s love. God’s love is the opposite of the love of this world that is being messaged to us on all sides. The love of this world is the word Eros, the Greek word for what this world calls love. It means “I want for myself, my pleasure the highest, the best and the most beautiful, and want it now!” It describes a desire that is self-centered satisfying the craving of self for sensual pleasure and by its own definition is passing and can soon wither to be replaced by the latest most beautiful.

God’s love is self-giving, seeking the good and pleasure of the beloved, and not limited to the highest best and most beautiful but to all without any limitations. We do not earn His love by being the best but are loved as we are to be transformed by the love bestowed freely on us. You are not God’s Valentine, you are loved with unconditional love, declared His beloved.

We will be travelling in the months ahead and here are a few of the places we will be:

March 26 5:30pm at The Family
2473 W Liberty Road, Atoka, Oklahoma 74525

April 28-29: Module 6 of the Bible School
all students for module 6 make sure you have registered – do not wait until the last minute! Visit our website for more information at https://unconditionallovefellowship.com/about/msbi/ or call Judy at (830) 328-3770.

May 26-27: we begin another cycle of Modules with Module 1. This has been the favorite of all the students as we cover the entire course in these two full days. You can sign up for this even if you may not continue with Module 2. As we are planning the space needed for those who will be physically with us in Bandera, please call immediately to let us know you are coming. Online Registration is open now at the link above, or you can call and register for Module 1 by phone.

Both of these Modules take place during many local school graduations and Memorial Day weekend, when hotels are heavily booked. Be sure to reserve in advance, and call Judy at (830) 328-3770 and she can direct you to excellent Bed & Breakfast or hotels in nearby towns.

June 9-11: We will be in Cedar Bluff, Virginia 24609 at the Rhythms of Grace June 9,10,11. For further information call Jim Moore at (276) 220-1014. This is a church that has paid a price to walk away from religion and celebrate His grace.

I trust we will see you at one of these events as we celebrate His love.

In the love of Jesus,
Malcolm and Cheryl

January 2023 – Partner Update

Posted by on January 7, 2023 in More, News & Events, Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

Join us in this wonderful New Year celebrating Christ in us, our life, and our hope!

We look back on 2022 with thanks to the Lord for all the opportunities of bringing the message of the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into this world’s darkness.

We ended the year with our annual retreat, which included the celebration of my being in ministry for 70 years. Cheryl was in charge of the celebration and surprised me (and everyone) by bringing in three special guests. I was stunned to see them: Paul Young, author of “The Shack,” flew in from meetings in Croatia; Francois DuToit, translator and author of the Mirror Bible, flew in from South Africa; and Baxter Kruger, the well-known theologian and author, interrupted his busy schedule to be with us.

For me, it was emotional overload – Looking back over those 70 years and knowing “I being in the way, the Lord led me!” when teaching the love of God, his grace, the finished work of Christ, and the pouring of the Spirit upon all flesh was not always a popular message!

Many times, I asked the Lord for someone who was saying the same thing as he was showing me! In those days, I could never imagine these days when the ears and eyes of many across the world are being opened.

Never forget that each one of you has and is playing a massive part in this. In those days, some of you were the only friends I had as you faithfully supported me. Today, as the message is going where it never has before, all of you have the honor of standing with me and Cheryl and making it all possible.

We have several meetings in the planning stages throughout the year that we will be sharing with you in the coming weeks.

January 20-21, 2023 I will be participating in an interesting conference with Don Keathley and Steve McVey, two men that I have known and fellowshipped with over the years. It is an online (Zoom-only) conference, no one coming physically, and will be Friday evening beginning at 6pm, and contuing Saturday through the afternoon. We are calling it The Journey – Into the Spirit. Coming from totally different backgrounds, the three of us will be teaching (not testimonies) how the Spirit takes us from where we are, to the fulness of life in Him. We are planning more such conferences emphasizing different aspects of the journey. Between the three of us we have 175 years of ministry experience, and we share from that deep river of understanding. The conference is $99, and you can find more information and an online registration link on our website at: https://unconditionallovefellowship.com/journey/

For those of you in Oklahoma, we will be in Atoka for the Sunday morning service on March 26th. More details to come on that later.

We are ready to begin the cycle of Bible school modules again for those who may be interested. The new Module One will be May 26-27, 2023. We will also be having Module 6 for the current group of students, April 28-29, 2023, and that class is open to all who have completed Modules 1-5 in-person or through the online modules. We have had many new students enrolling into the online modules.

Please visit the Bible School info page if you are interested in learning more about the Bible school or registering upcoming Modules. You can also call Judy at 830-328-3770 with any questions.

Remember, we also meet every Sunday at 11am CST in Bandera and many join us by Zoom – if you’d like to join our Sunday church services in Zoom, just email us at malcolmsmith.org@gmail.com to let us know you’re interested, and we’ll send you a link each week so you can join us in Zoom.

Malcolm’s YouTube channel has more than 400 hours of his latest teaching and more videos are being added every week. https://www.youtube.com/MalcolmSmithWebinars

Thank you for your faithful giving that enables us to share this living message of the love of God with the world.

You are blessed in Christ Jesus,
Malcolm and Cheryl

November/December 2022 – Partner Update

Posted by on December 6, 2022 in More, News & Events, Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello Partners!

We have just returned from Grand Rapids, Michigan where we were abundantly blessed in ministering this message of grace and the unconditional love of God to the people there. It was a small group, but we were able to watch the Spirit put the message deep into their hearts.
This is what your monthly support does! It enables us to go and teach – it is the way in which you and I are one together in taking this message to all people. When you buy a book or recording it is for your benefit, but when you give it is for other people’s benefit – they receive my word that comes to them through your giving! Thank you for being part of this wonderful ministry of love!

As I write this, we are now in the last stages of prepping for the retreat when we will meet many of you, and you will be part of the celebration of my 70 years in this ministry. If you will not be with us I ask you to pray, see with the eyes of the Spirit the eyes of many being opened and all of us strengthened in this great good news. My message to you is from my preparations and meditation on this subject and is a preview of what I will be speaking about at the retreat.

Update: the December retreat has just concluded, and the recorded series ‘Living Now in the Rest of God’ is now available on CD or MP3 Download. Visit malcolmsmith.org or call our office to order your copy. 830-460-4000

January 20-21, 2023 I will be doing a conference with Don Keathley and Steve McVey, two men that I have known and fellowshipped with over the years. It is an online (Zoom only) conference, no one coming physically, and will be all day Friday and finishing Saturday afternoon. We are calling it The Journey, and we will be discussing our unique experiences in how we came to know this message of God’s love and grace that we share with all of you. It would be good to have you there, and I am including the way in which you can register. The conference is $99, and you can find more information and an online registration link at: https://unconditionallovefellowship.com/journey/

We are planning another Bible school module for Spring 2023, which will be Module 6. And I will be starting a new set of Modules with Module 1 as well. Dates will be announced in the coming weeks. And we have had many new students enrolling into the online modules, which you can find out more about at: https://unconditionallovefellowship.com/about/msbi/ if you are interested in beginning the Bible school online.

Thank you for your continued support through these past months. Your giving is not merely giving dollars to support an organization. You and I together are co-workers with the Father, Son, and Spirit in bringing to pass the love dream of the Trinity! Every dollar that you send is the love of God clothed in finances and wrapped in prayer – the gift of your life joined to the Holy Spirit and sent forth to the world. You and I, along with every other partner, do more together than either of us could do alone in our wildest dreams. In your monthly giving, you are part of my voice carrying God’s love in Christ in the power of the Spirit to the world.

You are blessed in Christ Jesus,
Malcolm and Cheryl

September 2022 – Partner Update

Posted by on October 3, 2022 in Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello partners,

This has been a challenging month for all of us here at the ministry. I had surgery to replace my knee in mid- August and of course prior to that days were spent in pre-operative tests – hours in doctor’s office and hospital. The surgery went very well, and the knee is healing beautifully. But that comes with a price! Hours of physical therapy leaving me with pain – but healing pain!

All good intentions of getting a partner message out in the days following surgery came to nothing.

But in the office the passing of Cindy placed a backlog of calls and orders that we are just now catching up with. John was coming to Bandera and filling all the orders that Cindy usually handled in our office. Even if I had been available John would not have been able to produce this message and send it to you. We decided not to be stressed and let the days take their course.

We now have a new person working in the office, Gail Riley. She is one of the deaconesses in our Fellowship, has attended many Bible schools and so is well equipped to answer questions and pray with you. At this present time she is training and so please know, if you call the office you may have to leave a message and we will call you back.

We are about to have a second session of Module five of the Bible school here at the ranch and on zoom. It is a vital module covering the sufferings, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We ask the question “What was happening and what is He doing?” A life changing weekend.

In early November Cheryl and I will be going to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a weekend of meetings – I will be sharing the weekend with Don Keithley a long-time friend and one who preaches the love and grace of God.

We then move directly to the retreat, the first weekend of December. The subject will be an in depth investigation of how we live in the rest of God – a vital subject in these days!

This is my 70th year in the ministry and Saturday night of the retreat Cheryl has planned an exciting celebration of that for all.

The December retreat has already reached our planned capacity of 100 people, so we have started a waiting list for those who want to attend but are not registered. You can contact Judy at 830-328-3770 to get on the waiting list for the retreat and if a spot opens up, we will contact you.

One last item, we have had two Post office boxes for a number of years and we have come to the point of only needing one of them. From now on we will have only one, Post Office Box 1599, Bandera, Texas 78003 is the only address for receiving your letters and gifts. The one that have had that some of you used P.O. Box 3250 is now closed.

We pray that you will be blessed by my message on the Holy Spirit – the key to this New Covenant life!

Love In Christ,
Malcolm and Cheryl

July 2022 – Partner Update

Posted by on August 5, 2022 in Partners | Comments Off

Through your gifts you and I together are loving people to life.

Hello partners,

This partner message is going out a little late because Cindy Kimbrell unexpectedly passed through the veil to be with Christ which is far better. On July 12, she did not come into work which was very unusual. If she was going to be late or absent, she would always call me. Cheryl went to her house and called Randy to join her there. After they failed to have her answer the door, Cheryl called the wellness police, and they came and made entry into the house. She had collapsed on the floor of the shower holding a towel looking very peaceful. She died of a brain aneurism. She is greatly missed and will be missed by many of you who spoke to her often on the phone when you called the ministry, met her at bible schools and retreats at the product table.

I will be having a knee replacement surgery in August having which will be followed by weeks of therapy. I do not know how long it will take before I am back and able to walk. Any schedule that involves travel is unsure at this time. The tentative dates for travel are on the accompanying audio message – by my next message to you, I will be able to be more specific.

Having said that, we will be having the Bible School Module 5 in September (23-24th) and October (7-8th) and the retreat the first weekend of December. If you plan on coming, please secure your place immediately – both events are rapidly filling up. The Bible school Module is dealing with the finished work of Christ. We conduct the Bible school modules in Bandera and stream them live by Zoom, which has enabled us offer them to nearly 200 students covering the world. We are also building an online course as we record each new session, so students can always go back review the content. Modules 1-4 are already available online. If you are interested in the Bible School you may contact Judy for more information – text or call her at (830) 328-3770 – or visit the MSBI information page on our website for more on the Bible school modules.

The annual retreat the first weekend of December is at a new location in San Antonio, Texas this year and our subject will be the life of rest that we have in Christ. Many speak of it but few live it and we look forward to spending the weekend discovering this truth along with fellowship together. Full details can be found below, or on our website at www.unconditionallovefellowship.com/2022retreat/. Cheryl and I look forward to meeting all of you – old friends and new – hearing your story and praying with you.  This year’s retreat will include a special celebration for my 70th year in ministry. You don’t want to miss it!

We are enjoying a great number of people joining our Sunday morning service and teaching every week via Zoom. We welcome all to join us! If you’d like to participate in our Sunday services online, email malcolmsmith.org@gmail.com and let us know you want to receive the Zoom link each week in your email.

We welcome the partners who have joined in the last months having met us on Zoom. You have become part of a family of faithful believers who have seen and come to know who they are in Christ Jesus and want to extend this message through the world. Cheryl and I thank all of you for your faithful giving, especially in these difficult days.
We are looking forward to seeing you somewhere in the next months!

Love In Christ,
Malcolm and Cheryl
